Messiaen Quatuor recorded by NHK

On Thursday night we had a TV production for NHK japanease boradcasting Corp. We recorded Olivier Messiaen “Quartour pour la fin de temps” in the Mugonkan and Shinano Dessin Museum a touching museum with pictures from young painters, who dies in the second world war. As you can see, our first take was at 23:02, we finished at 28:00! Thank you soo much to the kind team of NHK.

Dirk Altmann

is a german musician. He has been solo clarinettist with the SWR Symphony Orchestra in Stuttgart for more than 30 years. In addition to his orchestral work, he is active in several chamber music ensembles. He is a founding member of the Ludwig Chamber Players and the Stuttgart Winds. For these ensembles he also makes numerous arrangements, like the adaption of Sergei Prokofiev´s Visions fugitives, nominated for the international classic music award (icma). For several years he has worked together with the Japanese woodwind manufacturer JOSEF, Okinawa.
